On improving TOEIC scores via a Leitner-algorithm based smartphone app

発表概要
This presentation will discuss efforts made to improve upon students’ TOEIC scores using a Leitner algorithm-based smartphone app. A study was conducted that compared app usage data versus TOEIC scores and improvements, and students' ability to master app content over a semester. Students who used the apps for the most minutes showed larger TOEIC score improvements. However, students with high TOEIC scores but low app usage were still able to get high scores on app content tests. So, not only does the data indicate that this app’s usage correlates with TOEIC score increases, but knowledge of its contents correlates with students receiving the highest TOEIC scores. This data thus points to such an app having the potential to help students increase their TOEIC scores with good efficacy.
